Dora Jo Burleson

A Memorial Service for Dora Jo Burleson, age 71, of Lake Brownwood, Texas will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the Heartland Funeral Home in Early.  Mrs. Burleson passed away Friday, September 5, 2014 in a local nursing home.

Dora Jo was born on August 23, 1943 in Slaton, Texas to Delmer D. and Eileen Lynch Tucker.  On December 23, 1960, she married Jackie Carlton Burleson in Slaton and he preceded her in death on April 1, 2014.  Dora was a homemaker and had lived in Anson, Texas prior to moving to Lake Brownwood in 2002.

Survivors include her daughter Sheri Sandbothe and husband Sam; two sons Carleton Burleson and wife Tammy, Joe Burleson and wife Beverly; two grandchildren Aaron Sandbothe and Paige Nicole Burleson; two brothers Dee Allen Tucker and Clarence Ray Tucker; two sisters Delma (Aunt Tookie) Tucker Bloxom and Debra Jane Tucker Rackler.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the San Antonio Downs Syndrome Association, 2800 NW Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78230 ,  [email protected].

Dora’s family would like to thank Solaris Hospice, Oak Ridge Manor Nursing Home and Dr. Gary Butka and staff for the care she was given.
