Weekly Fishing Report for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes, compiled as reported this week by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Lake Brownwood

Water clear; 82–86 degrees; 12.07′ low. Black bass are fair on black/chartreuse spinnerbaits and watermelon red soft plastic worms over brush piles in 12–15 feet. Hybrid striper are fair trolling and drifting shad. White bass are good on Li’l Fishies and Persuader crankbaits off lighted docks at night. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are fair on trotlines baited with cut bait and chicken livers in 12–20 feet. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with cut bait and chicken livers.

Lake Coleman

Water clear; 82–86 degrees; 18.08′ low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse and watermelon Rat–L–Traps and Carolina rigged soft plastics. Hybrid striper are slow. Crappie are good on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs. Channel catfish are good on stinkbait and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 83–89 degrees; 40.42′ low. Black bass are good on Yellow Magics early, later switching to Carolina rigs, jigs and Rapala DT 10s. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs shallow.

Lake Proctor

Water murky; 82–86 degrees; 11.40′ low. Black bass are good on white spinnerbaits and Rat–L–Traps. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on shrimp and shad. Yellow catfish are fair on shrimp and shad.
