The girls’ cross country team at Brownwood High School placed 2nd as a team at the Belton Cross Country Invitation on Thursday.

Three of the girls’ varsity runners placed in the top ten securing the team in second place behind Liberty Hill High School.  In the girls’ varsity 2 mile run, Jessica Romero placed 5th with a time of 12:52.7.  Julianne Hood placed 8th with a time of 13:10.9.  Tori Burkett followed in 9th with a time of 13:24.1.

Boys’ varsity placed 5th in the boys 3 mile run.  Justin Gomez placed 10th with a time of 18:01.5.  Ben Berger earned 13th with a run of 18:10.6.

The Lions cross country teams will participate in their next meet, the Llano Invite, at Llano High School on Thursday, September 4th.
