Brownwood Fire Department – Fire & Rescue Reports 8/26

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the two week period of August 11-24, 2014 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 58 medical emergencies, 11 fire calls, 2 hazardous material calls and 3 motor vehicle accidents.

Reports of interest that the Brownwood Fire Department responded to include:

Monday, August 11

*5:47 PM – Fire Call 200 Bluffview.  Arrived on scene to find a small grass fire started by arcing power lines.  Fire was spreading quickly with 1 structure in danger. Fire was brought under control and Oncor was contacted.

*9:00 PM – Motor vehicle accident at Roselawn with no injuries.

Wednesday, August 13

*10:34 AM – Fire Call on FM 2632.  Brownwood Fire Department arrived on scene to a small grassfire with 2 structures being threatened. Fire was brought under control. Lake Bridge, Early, and Lake Dam VFD responded to fire.

*2:33 PM – Motor vehicle accident on Ave K involving a single vehicle vs fence, gas meter, and a telephone pole.

Sunday, August 17

*7:14 PM – Haz-Mat call in the 1800 block of Waco St. Gas pipe had been damaged.  Gas company was notified.

Tuesday, August 19

*6:54 PM – Fire Call on S 377.  Brownwood Fire Department arrived on scene to find 2 small grass fires in the railroad right of way.  Fire was extinguished.

Wednesday, August 20

*1:48 PM – Fire Call on N Highway 183. Incident was determined to be a wildland fire. Fire was extinguished.

Thursday, August 21

*9:10 AM – Motor vehicle accident at the Vine Street underpass.  Brownwood Fire Department responded to a car fire.  Front bumper pulled and fire was extinguished.

Friday, August 22

*6:38 PM – Fire Call in the 500 block of W. Commerce.  Brownwood Fire Department arrived on scene to find a small trash fire in vacant lot.  Redline was used to extinguish fire. Fire Marshal was dispatched to investigate.

Sunday, August 24

*8:53 AM – Fire call in the 1700 of Dallas St. Fire department responded to a electrical fire in the bathroom. Arrived on scene to find nothing showing and all occupants outside.  Firefighters investigated and found light in bathroom had become hot and melted ceiling tiles.  Breaker to bathroom was turned off and occupants were advised to contact an electrician.

*5:14 PM – Fire Call on FM 2125. Dispatched to assist Lake Bridge and Lake Dam VFD on a grass fire.  Fire was extinguished.
