CommCtArticle2014Brown County Commissioners took no action on a burn ban at Monday morning’s meeting of the court.

Commissioner Joel Kelton reminded citizens to use caution, “I want to remind everyone you can burn but please don’t burn on a windy day.”

Commissioners will keep consideration of a burn ban as an item on the upcoming meeting agendas with dry conditions in the area.

In other matters on Monday’s agenda of the court:

*County Tax Assessor Collector Christine Pentecost received approval of an employee replacement.  According to Pentecost, Amanda Ashby left a position on August 22, 2014 which will be filled by Robbie Hughes on September 1st.

*Brown Count Jail Administrator Becky Caffey received approval of two employee changes.  Amanda Sanders will replace Trinity Ramirez as the commissary clerk and Dennis Essary will move from a jailer position to a road crew boss, replacing Herby Martin, with an effective date of August 25, 2014.  Caffey reported the jail count at 183 as of Monday morning.

*Commissioner Precinct 4 Larry Traweek received approval of private waterline installation on County Road 154 at Hwy 67/84.  The installation will include a bore under the roadway to county specifications.
