Hugh Burleson

burlesonHugh Burleson, age 76, of Bangs formerly of Corpus Christi passed away Monday, August 11, 2014 at Bangs Nursing Home.

Funeral services for Hugh will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Slaymaker officiating, interment will follow at Gouldbusk Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. prior to service.

Hugh was born on August 23, 1937 to Carlos and Alice (Wileman) Burleson in Hobbs, New Mexico. Hugh lived in Corpus Christi and was a member of First Baptist Church of Portland, Texas before recently moving to Bangs. He loved golfing and was a fabulous artist.

He is survived by his daughters, Belinda Slater of Brookeshire, TX, Billie Kaye DeLeon of Seabrook, TX, and Bonnie McManus of Denver, CO; seven grandchildren; sisters, Lila Roberts and husband Art of Abilene, TX, and Bonnie Farren of Brownwood; brother, Joe Fred Burleson of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Beverly Brown; brother, Carlos Burleson; sister, Patsy Kerr; and step-mother, Dena Brown.
