The Howard Payne University athletic department announced on Friday that current Lady Jacket basketball coach Meia Daniels would take on compliance duties and is now Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance for HPU.

As the Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance, Meia Daniels will be responsible for monitoring compliance with all American Southwest Conference and NCAA rules and policies. She will serve as the Howard Payne athletics representative for all NCAA compliance issues and enforce all ASC and NCAA bylaws rules and regulations. Daniels will also develop and conduct rules and compliance education for the HPU coaching and athletic staff.

“I am excited to promote Meia Daniels to Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance,” said HPU director of athletics, Mike Jones. “Her organization, attention to detail and firmness will serve her well in this additional role.”

Coach Daniels led the Lady Jackets last season to a 16-10 overall record and the program’s 14th consecutive appearance in the American Southwest Conference tournament.

Daniels also serves as Senior Women’s Administrator on the HPU athletics staff. Daniels acts as a liaison for women athletes and staff to HPU athletic administration, American Southwest Conference and the NCAA. She also represents HPU at ASC and NCAA meetings and functions as needed.
