Nancy Anne Thibert of Austin, Texas passed away on July 14, 2014 at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center. Nancy just celebrated her 70th birthday in June. Nancy was born in Brownwood, Texas to John Bruce Croft and Doris Lapharne Croft (Krauskopf).
Nancy graduated Brownwood High School and attended Southwest Texas State University before she began her career with a technology company, Wireless Systems. She continued to work in Austin at Digatex and Brock Consulting. For the past 12 years Nancy expressed her talent and creativity as a florist for Randall’s Grocery Store in South Austin where she will be dearly missed.
Nancy enjoyed sewing as a hobby, which led to an arts and craft business with her sister under the name Dotchi Designs for 25 years. Nancy also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren around the pool and fishing along the Llano River.
For 38 years she has lived in Austin with her husband of 43 years, John Thibert. Nancy spent a lifetime as a loving and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons Christopher and Brian Thibert, three grandsons Joseph, Grayson, and Schoen, siblings Walter B. Croft and wife Gail, William Kemper “Bill” Croft, Vonne Croft Cornett and husband Lynn, and Doyce “PeeWee” Croft and wife Sara.
She is preceded in death by her parents and daughters-in-law Alison Thibert (Sturm) and Dr. Nicole Thibert (Schneider).
The Family would like to give thanks to the Doctors and staff of Texas Oncology of South Austin, St. David’s South Austin Medical Center and MD Anderson Cancer Center-Houston for their love and support given to Nancy as she battled cancer for seven years.
A memorial will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. to commemorate the life of Nancy Thibert. Family and friends are invited to attend at The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge, 1215 Chappell Lane, Austin, TX 78748. In lieu of flowers, any donations made to the Thibert Family (John Thibert) will go to grandchildren’s education fund.
