Graduation season became a little sweeter for area high school students and their families.  Isabela Avalos, Shyan Seamans and Maria Ortiz, children of active Kohler Co. associates, received scholarships from the company to put toward their continued education.

“We couldn’t be more proud of our associates’ students,” said Rachel Tobin, human resources manager for Kohler’s Brownwood facility. “The students have impressive goals for the future and dedicated parents to help get them there.”

Maria Ortiz, daughter of Juan Ortiz, Kohler Manufacturing Operations, graduated from San Saba High School and will be going to Lutheran Concordia University. Shyan Seamans, daughter of Donald Seamans, Kohler Manufacturing Operations, graduated from Brookesmith High School and will be going to Angelo State University. Finally, Isabella Avalos, daughter of Troy Craddock, Kohler Maintenance, graduated from Brownwood High School and will be going to Angelo State University.

To be eligible for the four-year renewable Kohler Co. College Scholarships, students must be children of active Kohler Co. associates, plan to attend a four-year accredited university and show success based on class rank, work experience, honors, awards and career goals. Ortiz and Seamans took home this accolade, while Avalos received a Kohler Co. Inspirational Award, a non-renewable scholarship granted to seniors who demonstrate a motivation to succeed in school, community or work activities.

At its locations in the United States, Canada and Mexico, Kohler Co. representatives presented 21 students with College Scholarships and four with Inspirational Awards.

About Kohler Co.:  Founded in 1873 and headquartered in Kohler, Wis., Kohler Co. is one of America’s oldest and largest privately held companies.
