Glendon Don Schoen

SchoenGlendonFuneral Services for Glendon Don Schoen, 68, of Deer Park, Texas formerly of Blanket will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Heartland Funeral Home with David Barnum Officiating.  Interment will follow in the Blanket Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.   Mr. Schoen passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the Kindred Hospital Clear Lake in Webster, Texas.

Glendon was born on March 2, 1946 in Goldthwaite, Texas.  He was a 1964 graduate of Blanket High School and a 1971 graduate of Howard Payne University.  Glendon was employed at the Weatherby Ford Dealership for many years prior to moving to the Houston area in 1977.  While in Houston he was employed as a computer programmer for GATX, now Kinder Morgan, a chemical transfer storage company.  He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and a very loved brother and uncle.

Survivors include his brother Royce Schoen and wife Glenna of Lake Brownwood, two sisters Belinda Coyle and husband James of Midland, Delisa Coyle and husband Earnie of Brownwood, Kathy Lippe and husband Steve of San Antonio.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lucy Thorp Baker Hedges and Walter Neldon Baker, three brothers Henry, Freddie and Teddy Schoen.

The family would like to give a special thanks to his caregivers Dean Hancock, Terrie Magee and the wonderful staff at the Kindred Hospital Clear Lake for the excellent care that Glendon received.
