leapinglionParents and Friends of the Brownwood High School Class of 2014 are rallying around a classmate and his family after having suffered great loss this year with a fundraiser dinner on Friday, June 20th.

Mackey Gibson and his brother Grayson lost their father James Gibson during Spring Break and now their mother June Gibson passed away this past Sunday.   The Gibsons have five sons; however Mackey just graduated from BHS this year and his younger brother is still attending BISD.

In an effort to help the Gibson family, friends have joined forces to do a brisket fundraiser of lunch and dinner on Friday, June 20th at Wal-Mart.  Meals of brisket, sausage, potato salad, beans, pickles, onions, bread and tea will be offered for $10 and will be served from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and again at 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Preorders are available by emailing or texting the following volunteers:

Gloria Salazar:  Gloria.Salazar1@BrownwoodISD.org or 998-8752

Sandra Vara:  Sandra.Vara@BrownwoodISD.org or 325-642-1565

Kristi Owen:  Kristina.Owen@BrownwoodISD.org or 325-647-4132

Donations are also appreciated.  An account benefitting the Gibson family has been established at Western Bank, located at 1110 Clements Street in Brownwood.  Donations may be made at the bank or by sending donations to the following address:

Western Bank
Mackey Gibson Benefit Account
P.O. Box 550
Brownwood Texas

For more information or questions about the benefit account, please contact Jill Goodwin of Western Bank by calling 325-646-2265.

The Class of 2014, parents and friends offer thanks to those who help them in their efforts in support of this family, their classmate and friend, during this difficult time.
