Thanks to the support of a generous community, the Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club was honored to award five, $1,000 scholarships at the Early High School Awards Program recently.

Those receiving scholarships were (L to R) Morgan Macke, Kassidy Allen, Brady King, Breana Cooney, and Luke Broussard.

In addition, the Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club awarded a $500 Sophomore of the Year Scholarship to Karissa Tobin. Mark Fisher, Club President, made the presentations.

“It is because the citizens of this area pour out their hearts with their support of our two major fundraisers that we can award these types of scholarships. By purchasing our Holiday Hams and/or buying tickets to our Fish and/or Chicken fry, you can be proud that you participated in these scholarships,” Fisher commented.  “For that, we thank you from the bottom of our heart. Hopefully, we will be able to repeat this next year. With your help, we can and will.”
