The Early Chamber recently held a ribbon cutting for Katy’s Steakhouse located at 700 Main St. in Blanket, Texas.

Owners Clint and Jami Tunnell purchased Katy’s Steakhouse and after completely restoring the 1901 historic building inside and out, then reopened the restaurant about a year and half ago.  It bears the name W.T. Smith who is considered the proprietor of Blanket due to his joining of other investors who bought the property, sight unseen, and ended up owning about 300 plus acres which later became the town of Blanket, Texas.

Katy’s Steakhouse is a unique place where visitors can enjoy delicious food and experience a little history of Blanket in an atmosphere not found in most places.  Clint and Jami Tunnell invite the public to Katy’s Steakhouse on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 5 to 9 p.m.

The Early Chamber welcomes the Tunnells as new members of the Early Chamber.

Pictured from left to right are Chris Furry, Katie Isom, Lisa Callihan, Helen Tatum, Ronald Isom, Jennifer Furry, Clint Tunnell (holding plaque), Susan Isom, Denise Hudson, Jami Tunnell (holding scissors) and Jodie Armstrong.
