The Brownwood Kiwanis Club awarded Shannon Parrish, a graduating senior from Brownwood, with the Kiwanis Bill Lamkin Memorial Scholarship for $500 Thursday during the weekly lunch meeting.

Parrish, the daughter of Randy and Sandi Parrish, will be attending Dallas Baptist University in the fall and plans on pursuing a career in film and directing.

During her high school career, Parrish has performed in eight shows and participated in the Theater program for four years. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has completed four dual-credit classes. She also participated in UIL Prose Reading for four years and played Varsity Tennis for three years.
