Evangeline Lydia Felder Eads, 84, of Bangs, Texas went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 25, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Visitation for Mrs. Eads will be on Friday, May 30, 2014, 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church of Bangs. Funeral Services for Mrs. Eads will be at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church of Bangs with interment at Bangs Cemetery.
Evangeline Felder Eads was born in Travis County, Texas August 7, 1929, to Albert Henry Felder and Lydia Louise (Prinz) Felder. In early 1943 she moved to Bishop, Texas with her parents where her dad worked at the Luby Plant. She graduated from Robstown High School in 1946. She met her future husband, John “Pete” Eads on Labor Day 1951 at a family reunion at Lake Brownwood. They married April 20, 1952.
After Evangeline and Pete wed in 1952, they built their house at 504 Virginia Street in Bangs, Texas where she resided until her death. She and her husband worked at the Texans Lamp Factory in Bangs, Texas until it closed. In her retirement years she enjoyed china painting and was a member of the Heart of Texas Porcelain Art Club. She was also a very talented gardener. While she had many interests, flowers were her favorite. She would rather have her hands in the dirt pulling weeds verses being in the kitchen. Her pecan pies were the talk of the family and friends. She was adopted by the Bangs Volunteer Fire Department and was also a member of the department.
Evangeline and Pete had no children of their own, but her first cousin Kenneth Prinz and his wife Christine of San Antonio, Texas were like their children. They always seemed to be around whenever they needed help or assistance. She was very grateful for their relationship.
Mrs. Eads was preceded in death by her husband Pete, and her parents. She is survived by her cousin Kenneth Prinz, his wife Christine of San Antonio, Texas, and their children Karl of Richardson, Texas and Jenna of Cypress, Texas and numerous other cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the Bangs Volunteer Fire Department.
