Nine Early High School Band students recently competed at the UIL State Solo and Ensemble Competition at Hendrickson High School in Pflugerville.

Those competing included:

Abraham Cooper, Piano Solo

Brad Brown, Baritone Solo

Chris Whited, Jessica Robledo, Clarissa Arreola – Clarinet Trio

Chris Martin, Connor Marsh, Logan Thomas, and Crystal Ochoa – Trombone Quartet

These students qualified for State at the UIL Region competition that was held at Howard Payne University in February.  They performed for and were adjudicated by the best high school and college professors from around the state.

Abraham Cooper and Brad Brown each earned gold medals by making a 1st Divisions on their performance at State.  A gold medal at the State Solo and Ensemble contest is the highest individual music award that a student can receive from the UIL.
