Woodland Heights celebrated Cinco de Mayo, Monday, May 5th. This is the third year Woodland Heights has recognized the celebration of Hispanic culture and traditions.

Woodland Heights Elementary students enjoyed various activities at stations setup in the school library, gym, and music classroom. Students were able to learn and enjoy everything from music and dance to storytelling and flower-making.

A group of Brownwood High School Spanish class students volunteered to help at the various stations which included serving an assortment of traditional foods that included polvoronez, taquitos, burritos, arroz, and a “variedad de galletas mexicanas,” (variety of Mexican cookies) made specifically for the event by parents.
