Brownwood Chamber to Host Document Shred Day During County-Wide Clean-up Saturday

chamberlogoThe Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce and Condor Document  Services will hold a document shredding event during the Keep Brownwood Beautiful County-Wide clean-up day on Saturday, May 3rd from 8 AM – 2 PM.  The event will take place underneath the Austin Avenue Overpass next to the Brownwood Intermediate School.

A mobile shredding truck will destroy all documents on site.  Drive up and drop off up to 3 file boxes of documents.  For each box of documents, please bring 2 non-perishable food items to be donated to the local food bank.

In addition to the document shredding, Keep Brownwood Beautiful and the City of Brownwood will be holding their county-wide clean-up.

Acceptable items accepted at the clean-up include brush, yard debris, household garbage, latex and spray paint (limit 10 gallons), metal, refrigerators (must be free of food), stoves, ovens, air conditioning units, anti-freeze, car batteries, passenger car tires (max 8 per household – no tires accepted from tire dealers), used motor oil (limit 5 gallons).   No hazardous waste will be accepted.

Electronic items accepted during the event include computers, monitors, printers, copy machines, fax machines, scanners, cameras, batteries, VCR/VCD/DVD players, and MP3 players.
