Thousands of kids and parents were at Coggin Park Saturday morning for the 6th Annual Great Easter Egg Hunt and Candy Throwdown hosted by Wendlee Broadcasting.

Three egg hunts were held for kids pre-k & under, kindergarten & 1st grade and 2nd & 3rd grade where all of the candy and eggs were snatched up.  The event also featured classic cars by the Heartland Cruisers, pony rides, bounce houses, face painting, the Brownwood Fire Department, Brownwood Police, Air Evac Lifeteam, Heart of Texas EMS and more.  There was also plenty of food and drinks to go around.

This year, over 21,000 pieces of candy were given away which was all donated by Brookshires.

The event was sponsored by the Breeze 96.9, Newstalk 102.3, Brookshires, Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce, Bruner Auto Group, First Central Credit Union, Air Evac Lifeteam, Heartland Mall, Davis Morris Funeral Home, Early Trailer Sales, Legacy IT, Sun Loan Company, Clear Talk Wireless, Dazzling Divas, Weakley-Watson Sporting Goods, Avenue Dental, Scholtsky’s, Wild Bills Pawn Shop, Doc’s Pharmacy, Dr. Pepper, First United Methodist Church of Brownwood, and Food Plaza.
