Brownwood Lady Lion Sydney Roberts secured first place Thursday in the Region I-3A golf tournament held in Lubbock.

Roberts took first place with 5 under par and a total of 139 after shooting a 69 Wednesday and 70 on Thursday.  Roberts will advance to the 3A state golf tournament at the end of the month in Austin.

Following Roberts in the tournament were Sarah Moore of Burkburnett and Ryan Pate of Midland Greenwood who each tied for second place with a 144 and will also advance to state.  Sarah Black of Andrews took 4th place with a score of 145 and Hailey Burgen also of Andrews came in 5th with a score of 148.

The state tournament will be held April 28-29 at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort in Austin.
