BHS_One_Act_area2014The Brownwood High School one-act play, “The Mill on the Floss” continued to earn high praise as it advanced from the Area competition on Saturday, April 12th at Angelo State University in San Angelo.

The play now advances to the Regional Meet that will be held April 29th and 30th at Texas Tech University.  “Our region is exceptionally strong,” said BHS Theatre Director, Larry Mathis. “We look forward to the opportunity to be there.”

In addition to advancing, the show earned multiple individual honors. Stephanie Thompson earned the Best Technician award while Megan Pointer and Sheyanne Cole were named to the All Star Cast. Trey Fawcett earned the Best Actor award, and Faith Bailey, Kolton Robertson, and Tanner Crow received Honorable Mention All Star Cast awards.

“I am just so proud of all of the kids. They have worked long, hard hours on this show and they continue to get better and better each time they step onto the stage,” said BHS Theatre Director, Larry Mathis noting that the show continues to receive rave reviews. “They are a very close knit group who enjoy being together and it shows.”

The community will get another opportunity to view the production during a public performance of the play on Monday, April 28th at 7:00 p.m. in the Brownwood High School auditorium.
