Bangs High School’s One Act Play cast, in its bid to repeat last year’s state performance, will present La Bete Thursday in the area round of competition at Graham Memorial Auditorium in Graham.

To reach this level of competition, Bangs had to be one of the top two plays in each of the zone and district contests.   Bangs was awarded three “1” ratings to be the winning play at the district 6-2A contest which was held in Coleman in March.

In addition to being an advancing play, the cast has rolled up several acting and technical honors.  The play has won Best Actor twice with Christopher Freeland taking the award at the zone contest and Andrew Quintana winning the award at district. The entire crew received the top crew award at the district meet.

Other cast honors include:

District

William Roberts, Christopher Freeland—All Star Cast

Mason Reichenau, Kassidy Adams– Honorable Mention All Star Cast

Alyssa Rosales—Technical Award

Zone

Mackenzie Calaway– Outstanding Technician Award

Andrew Quintana, William Roberts, Daniel Mallet—All Star Cast

Kassidy Adams, Kady Kyle– Honorable Mention All Start Cast,

Under the direction of Shannon Lee, Bangs has reached an elite place as one of only 64 plays left from the 223 2A schools who started this year’s competition.  Bangs must finish in the top two at area to advance to the regional contest May 2 at Odessa College.
