SainJalynaA Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle Saturday night which resulted in one woman being arrested twice over the weekend on narcotic charges and giving a false name.

According to Brown County Sheriff’s reports, at approximately 9:36 p.m. Deputy John Gramling made a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1400 block of Coggin Avenue and during interviews he noticed the occupants to be acting nervous.  Consent from the driver was given to search the vehicle, during which Deputy Gramling found narcotics in multiple areas of the vehicle.

All three occupants of the vehicle were arrested.  54-year-old Mark Allen Sain of Amarillo was charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams in a drug free zone.  43-year-old Sharon Larue Shaffer of Brownwood was charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams in a drug free zone and possession of marijuana greater than 2 ounces less than 4 ounces.

The third occupant of the vehicle identified herself as 32-year-old Kathie Celeste Paxton of Floydada and  was charged with manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 4 grams less than 4 grams, possession of marijuana less than or equal to 2 ounces in a drug free zone, manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 3/4 less than 28 grams in a drug free zone, and tamper fabricate physical evidence.

All three occupants bonded out of jail later Saturday night.  Paxton was released on bonds totaling $17,500, Sain was released on $10,000 bond and Shaffer was released on bonds totaling $7500.

Brown County Sheriff’s Office later received a “hit” on Paxton’s fingerprints, indicating they matched that of another name, 44-year-old Jaylana Sain of Brownwood.  She was then rearrested on charges of failure to identify.  Brown County Sheriff’s Captain Tony Aaron stated that officials are working to confirm if this is the woman’s correct name, explaining that Jaylana Sain could also be an alias used in a previous arrest.  The woman’s previous bonds were withdrawn by A-Action Bail Bonds due to the charge.  Sain was found to have a Lubbock County warrant for her arrest related to theft and a federal hold issued, keeping her from bonding out again.
