bolandThe Early Chamber of Commerce will celebrate National Women’s History Month at their monthly luncheon on Friday, March 28th. Guest speaker Patricia Boland, Site Coordinator Heart of Texas Christian Women’s Job Corps, will be speaking on “Women helping Women.”

Boland moved to Brownwood in 1981 when she began teaching math at Brownwood Middle School and her husband, Chuck, began teaching in the School of Business at Howard Payne University.  She taught secondary math at Brownwood Junior High and Brownwood High School for 30 years.

After retiring, she became the volunteer site-coordinator at the Heart of Texas Christian Women’s Job Corps located at 2410 Coggin Avenue.  She continues her “first love” by tutoring math. Tricia and Chuck have two children, Chris and Kenan.

Boland earned her Bachelor of Chemistry degree from the University of Mississippi and her Master of Education degree on Curriculum and Instruction from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth.

Friday’s luncheon will be held at Prima Pasta Italian Restaurant (210 Early Blvd) from 11:30 AM to 1 PM.  The luncheon is sponsored by Creative Image Laser Solutions and Bruner Auto Group.

Call the Early Chamber at 325-649-9317 to RSVP.
