Richard A. Gardner

Richard A. Garner, 88, of Brownwood passed away on March 5, 2014. Born in Brownwood, Texas, September 21, 1925, he was the son of Carl and Eunice Garner. Richard spent many years as a resident of Brownwood. Richard married the love his life, Joyce, in Brownwood, Texas, on February 9th, 1944, separated by death May 5, 1991, and reunited together March 5, 2014. Richard owned and operated Coleman Auto Parts before retiring.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Eunice Garner: his wife, Joyce; son, Daniel J. Garner; and brothers, Hubert C. Garner and Henry A. Garner. Richard is survived by his son, Freddie Garner and his wife Brandy; one sister Judy Teague of Midland; and grandson Chris M.

Richard was a hospice volunteer for over twenty years at Brownwood Regional Medical Center where he received an award for over 20,000 hours of volunteer work for the hospital.

Funeral services for Richard A. Garner will be held 1 P.M., Monday, March 10, at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early.
