Brown County emergency responders were called to the scene of an overturned vehicle on Hwy 279, at the top of Day’s Hill, on Monday evening.

Shortly after 5:00 p.m., a single vehicle accident was reported at the location just outside Brownwood city limits.  According to witnesses on scene, the SUV was driven by a woman who was sent to the hospital for treatment and evaluation of her injuries, which appeared to be non-life threatening, according to responders on scene.

The woman’s husband was a passenger in the car and was reported to be uninjured.

The cause of the accident was not released at the scene, however, the vehicle was outbound from Brownwood, and veered off of the northbound lane where it struck a utility line and a phone line box, drove through a fence and came to rest on its driver’s side in a clump of small trees.

Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers were investigating the cause of the accident.  Brownwood Fire Department, Brown County Sheriff’s Office and Guardian EMS also responded to the scene.
