Early High School Band Students Earn Top Ratings at UIL Solo and Ensemble

EHSSoloEnsemble2014

Members of the Early High School Band recently competed at the UIL Solo and Ensemble competition at Howard Payne University.  Several students earned the highest rating of 1st Division from the judges.

Those students include:

Abe Cooper – Piano solo
Crystal Ochoa – Trombone solo
Brad Brown – Baritone solo
Eric Diehl – Trumpet solo
Courtnie Smith – Alto Sax solo
Keith Meeks – Bass Clarinet solo

Chris Whited, Jessica Robledo, Clarissa Arreola – Clarinet Trio

Garrett Marsh, Brett Shaw, Kassidy Holland – Trumpet Trio

Chris Martin, Connor Marsh, Logan Thomas, Crystal Ochoa – Trombone Quartet

EHS band solos advancing to state include Abe Cooper and Brad Brown, along with EHS clarinet trio and trombone quartet.  The Texas State Solo and Ensemble Competition will take place in Austin at the end of May.

The EHS Band is directed by Mr. Jason Jones, who stated, “Congratulations to all of these students on an outstanding job.”
