Linda Lee Clowdus, age 69, of Brownwood passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Senior Care of Brownwood after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Services for Linda will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Coggin Ave. Baptist Church with Bill Allen officiating, interment will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8 at Blaylock Funeral Home.

Linda was born to William Thomas Rampy and Georgia Lee Rampy in Abilene, Texas on August 12, 1944. The family moved to Brownwood when she was three years old. Linda graduated from Brownwood High in 1962. In 1960 Ken Clowdus came to Howard Payne, while a student at HPU he worked at Swartz Café where he first met Linda. During her senior year of high school Linda and Ken started dating. After high school she attended HPU for one year and then began working for the Texas Dept. of Transportation District Office. In January of 1964 Ken and Linda married. She worked for TxDOT until retirement in 1994.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 50 years, Ken Clowdus; two children, daughter Mindy Lee Smallwood and husband John, son, Brook Allen Clowdus and wife Kimberly; four grandchildren Katelyn Smallwood, JT Smallwood, Chloe Clowdus, Kelsey Franks; one great-grandchildren, Aubree; one sister, Becky Dalrymple and husband Gary; sister-in-law, Gail Fletcher and husband Dale, sister-in-law Martha Clowdus and husband J.R. Clowdus. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Association or to Girling Hospice in her honor. Family and friends are welcomed to leave online condolences at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.
