Brownwood Lady Lions Golf participated in the San Angelo Girls Classic Golf Tournament and team member Sydney Roberts finished with second place.

Roberts shot two rounds of 83 for a total score of 166, behind Sonora’s Sydney Dermody who led with 154 in the blue division of the tournament.

According to BHS Golf Coach Laura Martin, the team had two beautiful days, Friday and Saturday, at the Classic.  The first round was at San Angelo Country Club and the second round was at Bentwood Country Club.

All of the other girls had their best round at Bentwood, said Coach Martin.  She reported the scores as follows:  Jessica Barrera shot 117,104. Audrey McKillip shot 122, 107. Krista Fragua 127,107. Sierra Mendez 131,116.  The Lady Lions placed 5th as a team.

“I am so proud of all the girls and I am looking forward to a great year,” said Martin of the Lady Lions’ performance at the tournament.
