WilliamsGeraldLCGraveside funeral services for Gerald L.C. Williams, Jr., 57, of Bangs, will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, February 1, in Bangs Cemetery with Pastor Joe Branham officiating.  Interment will follow, under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home and Cremations.

Mr. Williams passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Abilene Regional Medical Center.

Gerald L.C. Williams, Jr., was born on July 13, 1956, in Ballinger Texas to Gerald L.C. Williams, Sr., and Lillie Jean Cheeseman Williams. Throughout his life he worked as a mechanic and a heavy equipment operator in construction. Gerald lived a very active life and he loved to travel, ride motorcycles and fish. He was also known for his participation in award winning cook-offs as well as being an accomplished musician.

He loved his friends and family and they loved being around him. Gerald was always joking around and was known as quite a prankster, but when it came down to it, he was always there to lend a hand and would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. Although he never had children of his own, his nieces and nephews were considered his kids. He will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved him.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved dog “Baby”; two sisters, Barbara Lancaster and Betty Seals and husband Jim; one brother, William “Bill” Caswell and wife Irene; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald L.C., Sr and Lillie Jean Williams; sister, Judy Williams White; nephew Daniel Coronado; great nephew Skyler Seals, and a brother-in-law, Johnny Lancaster.

Family and friends are invited and encouraged to sign the online guestbook at www.nethertonfuenralhome.com.
