Stars of Texas Digital Photo Shootout Set for Saturday, January 25

starsoftexaslogo1The Stars of Texas Juried Art Exhibit will host their second annual Digital Photo Shootout this Saturday, January 25th at the Lehnis Railroad Museum.

Photographers are invited to participate by shooting a predetermined subject(s) at a predetermined location or locations and prepare a single image for judging within a specified time period.  Participants’ final images will be projected on a large monitor in lieu of a printed image for judging.

Rules of the contest are as follows:

  • Subject and or location will be in the downtown Brownwood area to be announced during registration, and must be able to be identified in the final image.
  • Participants must provide their own digital equipment to include camera, any props or models, computer if needed, and any accessories needed to complete the final image.
  • Workstations with access to electricity will be provided at the Museum.
  • A blank and formatted camera card must be presented at registration and prior to shooting.
  • Any and all types of digital enhancements can be made to the final image with any software or in-camera processing.  Final image can be any size, at a resolution of 72 ppi in the jpg format.  All images will be saved to a separate flash drive and will be displayed on a single computer/monitor/TV for judging.
  • Artist name should not be visible on final image.
  • Final image must be presented for judging no later than 3:00 p.m.  Judge’s decision for “Best of Shootout” will be final.

The photo chosen for “Best of Shootout” will be awarded a $250.00 cash prize.

Registration will be from 10:30 AM to 12:00 noon with completion of the final image by 3:00 PM.

The “Shootout” is open to all photographers, must be 18 years of age or older.  A non-refundable entry fee of $20 is required to participate.

The juror for the event is John English, a wildlife/nature/scenic photographer from Abilene, TX.
