Sidney Louis Holland, age 84, of Blanket passed away Monday, January 20, 2014 at Senior Care of Brownwood.

Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Eastlawn Memorial Park with Gary Hounshell officiating.  Visitation for the family will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home.

Sidney Louis was born on January 14, 1930 to RR and Lora (Peacock) Holland in Bluffton, Texas.  He was a member of the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954.  Sidney Louis was a member of the Blanket Church of Christ.  He spent a lot of his time enjoying his hobby of gardening and being outdoors.  He loved working at the Sale Barns.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Holland of Blanket; children, Regina Rose and husband Hollis of Breckenridge, Johnny Sharp of Blanket, Lora Holland of Ashville, N.C., Kevin Holland and wife Lisa of Magnolia, TX, and Kerry Holland and wife Melody of Abilene; thirteen grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; sisters, June Beakley of Rochelle, Paula Dean Blackmon and husband Bobby Jack of Austin, and Helen Holland of Austin; and brother, Ross Holland and wife Rose Marie of Austin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R.R. and Lora Holland; brother, William Earl Holland; and sister, Paulene Munsel.
