NapierAlmaImogeneAlma Imogene Tucker Napier passed away on Sunday morning, January 19th at Cross Country Nursing Home at the age of 92.

She was born to James and Janie Pugh Tucker on November 18, 1921 in Brown County.  She lived in Brown County most of her life.

A few years after finishing school she went to Midland to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.

Gene was a member of the Early First Baptist Church.  Our thanks goes to them and special members Wayne and Margie McClure for their nurturing care.

Gene loved to quilt and work crossword puzzles.  She spent many hours volunteering at Good Samaritan Ministries.  She was a generous person, wanting to help those in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Janie Tucker, brothers, Edward Tucker, Sterling Tucker, and James Tucker and sisters, Dorothy Tucker Chapman and Alene Tucker Drinkard.

She is survived by siblings Juanita Bradley of Brownwood, Doris Henexson of Gun Barrel City, Cleo Smith and husband Randal of Brownwood, a treasured brother-in-law Jerry Drinkard, and many nephews and nieces.

We are indebted to all the staff at Cross Country Nursing Home for their tender and loving care and to Dr. Smith for his dedication to his patient.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.  A graveside funeral service for the family will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday at Mud Creek Cemetery with Gary Smith officiating.
