Emergency responders were called to a one-vehicle accident just off of Hwy 377S near the Section Hand restaurant which sent one man to the hospital late Monday morning.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., first responders were called to the scene where a vehicle had struck a tree.

According to police on scene, the accident appeared to have begun in an inbound lane of Hwy 377, in front of 3M, where the vehicle, an SUV, left the road and went airborne from the drainage ditch.  It appeared to have traveled across Morris Shepherd Drive, through a median of trees, and crossed a small road before striking a tree at the apartment complex behind Section Hand.

The male driver was reported to have been having a medical complication which caused him to become unconscious, causing the wreck, according to first responders.  The driver’s condition and injuries were not reported at the time of the accident.

Brownwood Police Department, Brownwood Fire Department, Guardian EMS, and Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene.

Pictured above and below is the damaged vehicle.
