LECSmLaw enforcement arrests and reports released Tuesday, December 31, 2013.

Monday, December 30

*3:53 PM –Brownwood Police responded to the burglary of a habitation in the 1600 block of Avenue E.  According to the report, a digital camera had been stolen from the complainant’s apartment.

*6:09 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of 10th Street regarding theft.  According to the report, a female complainant stated that her silver colored wallet had been taken from her vehicle while it was parked at Coggin Park.

*7:57 PM – A Brownwood Police officer was patrolling in the 1800 block of Avenue B when he observed a male wearing blue jeans and a red hoodie walking on the wrong side of the roadway.  According to the report, a pedestrian stop was attempted in the area of 7th Street and Avenue B; however, the male, later identified as 38-year-old Jeremy Ortega, fled on foot after the officer made contact.  This incident led to the arrest of Ortega for evading arrest/detention, possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1, greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams (1.6 grams methamphetamine), possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair, the report states.

*10:00 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2300 block of Durham Avenue regarding the burglary of a storage building.  Several items were stolen during the incident and no suspect information was available at the time of the report.

*10:01 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2700 block of Southside Drive regarding the burglary of a building.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Jackie Lee Byrd on warrants related to surety withdrawal/false drug test falsification device and parole violation.

*Brownwood Police arrested 21-year-old Demory Ardell Wilson, Jr. on warrants related to failure to maintain financial responsibility and no driver’s license.

Tuesday, December 31

*3:34 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3400 block of Golding Road regarding the theft of a motor vehicle.  According to the report, the vehicle was described as a silver 2002 Chevy Monte Carlo and was entered as a stolen vehicle.  A possible suspect was named, the report states.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records.
