*10:46 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of Main Street regarding the theft of a dog.  According to the report, the complainant stated that his pit bull dog (valued at $500) was stolen just prior to the responding officer’s arrival.   A possible suspect was identified and the complainant wished to pursue criminal charges, the report states.

*4:17 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart, 401 W. Commerce, regarding theft.  According to the report, the loss prevention officer of the store stated that a known suspect had stolen several items of merchandise from the store the prior evening.

*6:54 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Durham Avenue regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a Frigidaire refrigerator was stolen from the driveway of his house sometime between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. this date.

*9:22 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was working interdiction in the area of W. Hwy 67 and County road 176, when he noticed a vehicle parked in the middle of the county road with its lights on.  According to the report, the deputy found this to be suspicious because the road gets very little traffic and as he traveled toward the county road, he observed the vehicle backing up, going from bar ditch to bar ditch.  A traffic stop was made on the vehicle and its occupants were identified as driver 30-year-old Jerrie Chad Calk of Austin, front seat passenger 31-year-old Rockey Simon Sambrano of Midland, and rear occupant 24-year-old Alexis Morgan Rapp also of Midland, the report states.    According to the report, the deputy asked each occupant individually where they had been traveling from and where they were going and their stories matched.  When asked if there were any illegal narcotics in the vehicle, all of the occupants advised there weren’t any and the driver denied consent to search the vehicle.  The report states that because of the suspicious nature of the vehicle and its location, the deputy launched his K-9 partner and a the deputy observed positive alerts to the driver and passenger side front doors along with the right rear floorboard and center console areas.  The vehicle was searched and a cigarette pack containing 4 baggies of a crystal substance that appeared to be methamphetamine and a meth pipe were located along with several syringes, according to the report.   Another deputy came to assist in the search and spoke to all three occupants about the ownership of the narcotics, the report states.  Sambrano claimed the meth pipe but stated that the narcotics and syringes were not his.  Neither Calk nor Rapp claimed possession of the contraband and subsequently, all three were arrested and chargeed with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams, the report states.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a Dish Network van had been burglarized during the night.  According to the report, forced entry was made into the side door of the vehicle.  Taken in the burglary was a roll of 10 gauge copper ground wire (worth approximately $75) along with company and personal tools (valued at approximately $160), the report states.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Alberto Cantu of Bangs on a warrant related to motion to revoke/possession of marijuana less than or equal to 2 ounces in a drug free zone.
