bisdlogo3Brownwood ISD announced Monday that the mock emergency and evacuation drill for Woodland Heights Elementary which was scheduled for Tuesday, December 10th has been canceled due to the cold weather.

According to Brownwood Police Officer and School Resource Officer, Fred Bastardo, the drill will be likely be rescheduled in the spring.

The drill had been planned as an effort to continue promoting security and safety within the Brownwood Independent School District.  A coordinated response including Brownwood Police Department, Fire Department, and Guardian EMS was planned during the drill and will be utilized when the drill is rescheduled in the spring.

When mock drills are planned within the Brownwood ISD, parents that have signed up on the district website (http://www.brownwoodisd.org/register), and have subscribed to the e-alert system will be sent drill notifications via text message or e-mail, and alert messages will also be visible within the Brownwood ISD mobile app, available for Android and iPhone/iOS devices.
