Cullen Crisp, Hood County small businessman and farmer, filed his paperwork last Friday with the Republican Party of Texas for a spot on the ballot in the Republican nomination for Texas House, District 60. This filing came several weeks after Cullen announced his intention to seek the office and filed appropriate paperwork with the Texas Ethics Commission to begin campaigning.

Announcing his filing, Crisp stated, “It’s been exciting and encouraging to have so many voters reaching out in support of our efforts to restore conservative principles to the Texas House. It’s imperative that we have conservative entrepreneurs in office in order to reign in the bloated budgets coming out of Austin. District 60 deserves a representative who will vote the conservative values so easily used in campaign material. We don’t need campaign rhetoric, we need conservative principles in the way we govern Texas.”

Cullen and his family run a farm in Granbury, where they grow strawberries, peaches, and harvest honey. Cullen is also owner of Crisp-LaDew Fire Protection, which specializes in fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems. Cullen is very active in the District 60 community, founding the Texas Heroes Foundation, and is currently planning the 3rd Annual Texas Independence Day Celebration. Cullen currently is a member of the Lake Granbury Coalition, on the board of Hood County Development District 1, and played an integral part of the development of Acton Nature Center near Granbury.

The Crisp family are committed Christians. Cullen is married to his beautiful wife, Ashley, and together they have two children, Carson and Maddie.
