Sunday Church Service Cancellations and Delayed Starts

Because of icy roads, many area churches are cancelling services or delaying starts because of icy road conditions for Sunday, December 8th.   Below is a list of those who have notified Brownwood News of the changes:

  • Blanket First Baptist Church has cancelled all Sunday services.
  • Blanket Church of Christ Church has cancelled all Sunday services.
  • Brookesmith Baptist Church has cancelled church services for Sunday.
  • Calvary Baptist Church has cancelled Sunday morning services.
  • Central United Methodist Church has cancelled services for Sunday.
  • Church of the Good Shepherd has cancelled it service for Sunday.
  • Coggin Avenue Baptist Church cancelled all Sunday morning services.  They will still have their “Love Brownwood Christmas Festival” in their parking lot at 5:30 PM.
  • Early Church of Christ will not have Sunday School, but will have services at 10:00 AM Sunday. There will be assistance getting in the building for those who need it at the carport on the east side of the building
  • Early First Baptist Church will have only the 11:00 AM worship service and no Sunday school
  • Early First United Methodist Church has cancelled morning services.
  • Faith Baptist Church in Brownwood has cancelled Sunday school and morning worship.  They will meet at 1:30 PM for an afternoon service, weather permitting.
  • First Baptist Church Brownwood is cancelling all services Sunday due to icy conditions around the church.  The Christmas Concert will be rescheduled.
  • First Baptist Church Bangs has cancelled Sunday morning services.
  • First United Methodist Church in Brownwood has cancelled all Sunday services.
  • Grace Baptist Church in Early has cancelled Sunday morning services.
  • Grace Pointe Missionary Baptist Church in Brownwood has cancelled Sunday services.
  • Grosvenor Baptist Church has cancelled all Sunday services.
  • Haven of Hope on Main Blvd will be closed for both services Sunday.
  • Heart of Texas Cowboy Church has cancelled all Sunday services.
  • Heartland Church has cancelled Sunday morning services
  • High Mesa Cowboy Church cancelled Sunday services.
  • Lake Brownwood First Baptist has cancelled Sunday service.
  • Midtown Baptist Church has cancelled Sunday school but will have regular 11:00 AM services
  • Milton Ave. Baptist Church is having services as usual at 10:30 AM and 6 PM.  Ice is being removed from sidewalks around church; south side metal ramp is closed.
  • Mullin First Baptist Church has cancelled all services for Sunday
  • Northridge Baptist Church has cancelled all Sunday services.
  • Rocky Creek Baptist Church will not have morning or evening services on Sunday.
  • Salt Creek Baptist Church will be closed both services Sunday.
  • Shiloh Bible Church in Richland Springs has cancelled services for Sunday.
  • St. John’s Church in Brownwood has cancelled their 8:00 AM Sunday service, but WILL have the 10:30 AM service.
  • Southside Church of Brownwood has cancelled Sunday school services.  Morning worship at 10:45 AM will continue as scheduled.
  • Union Presbyterian Church in Brownwood has cancelled morning services.
  • Victory Life Church has cancelled Sunday morning services.
