Clois Gayland French, age 82, of Blanket passed away Tuesday, Decemeber 3, 2013 at a local nursing home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Salt Creek Baptist Church, interment will follow at Pendergrass cemetery.

Gayland was born October 31, 1931 in Mullin, Texas to the late George and Alverda French. He married Helen Loretta Reed in Cleburne, Texas on July 16, 1960. They made their home in Ft. Worth and later in Blanket, Texas.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen Loretta; three children, Gayland French and wife Diane of Alexandria, Virginia, Karla Williams and husband John of Brownwood, and Gary French and wife Sherrie of Abilene; a brother Marcus French of Ft. Worth. His beloved grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah, and Matthew French of Virginia, Rachel Griffin and husband Tim of Brownwood, Shaun Davidson and wife Gina of Brownwood, Jessie Linton and husband Spencer of Montana, Magen Storey and husband Clay of Brownwood, Haley French of Abilene, Logan French of Virginia, and Christene Pizarro and husband Hector of Azle. Great-grandchildren: Cataliena, Angelina, Hunter, Hudson, McKenna, Caroline Grace, and Daxton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Alverda French; and brothers, Forest, Gene, and Joe French.
