In an effort to continue promoting security and safety within the Brownwood Independent School District, Woodland Heights Elementary will be conducting a mock emergency scenario and school evacuation at a pre-determined time on Tuesday, December 10th.

The drill will include a coordinated response by Brownwood Police Department, Fire Department, and Guardian EMS.  Roads leading into the school will be blocked off while the drill is being conducted.

Brownwood Police Officer and School Resource Officer, Fred Bastardo, finalized the details of the scenario in a meeting that included personnel from local law enforcement, fire department, first responders, school transportation, BISD administration, and Woodland Heights Elementary principal, Jenny Swanzy.

After school pick-up and transportation procedures for students will not be affected by the drill.

Parents that have signed up on the district website (http://www.brownwoodisd.org/register), and have subscribed to the e-alert system will be sent drill notifications via text message or e-mail, and alert messages will also be visible within the BrownwoodISD mobile app, available for Android and iPhone/iOS devices.
