The National Weather Service reports that an arctic cold front will move into the area early Thursday morning, bringing much colder temperatures and the potential for freezing rain and sleet to much of West Central Texas.  This wintry precipitation may begin as early as Thursday morning north of interstate 20 spreading south into the Concho Valley and Heartland by late afternoon, and south of interstate 10 by Thursday night.  The wintry mix is expected to taper off Friday morning.  Light ice and sleet accumulations are expected across the area with possibly dangerous travel conditions.

Temperatures are expected to fall into the 30s on Thursday with north winds of 15 to 25 mph yielding wind chills in the teens across the Big Country by Thursday afternoon.  These cold temperatures will persist through Saturday with highs in the upper 20s and 30s and overnight lows in the teens to lower 20s.  Dangerous wind chills in the single digits and teens are expected Thursday night and Friday night.
