Tommy Dean Snipes

Tommy Dean Snipes, age 68, of Early went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born June 25, 1945, in Brownwood, Texas, to Worth and Ileta Drinkard Snipes. He attended Early ISD before joining the U. S. Air Force in 1962. He proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1966.

Tommy was married to Elaine Barrett on Jan. 1, 1964. They had one son, Warren Dean Snipes. He was later to married Susan Moore on June 4, 1977. They had one daughter, Dawna Snipes Fulton.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved sister, Wynell Winslett; nephew, Kenny Turney; and niece, Questie Turney.

Those left to cherish his memory are son, Warren; daughter, Dawna and son-in-law, Micheal Fulton; and four grandchildren, Aaron, Chevy, Brody, and Ilena. He is also survived by his brothers, Weyland Snipes and wife Patti, Jack Snipes and wife Brenda; his sister, Saundra Mayo and husband Benny; brother-in-law, Herman Winslett; aunt, Mickey Mathis; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family would also like to recognize Tommy’s lifelong friends Winston Boulware and Sharon Watson, and daughter in love Barbie Bennie, Sabrina Davis, and Crys Cole.

Visitation for Tommy will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Heartland Funeral Home Early, Texas. A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at New Beginnings Church. Interment will follow with military honors at May Cemetery in May, Texas.

The family would like to thank Bangs Nursing Home and Solaris Hospice for their support and love.

Heartland Funeral Home of Early is in charge of arrangements.
