ToysForKidsLogoOrganizers of Brown County Toys for Kids are ready to help parents in need of a little help to make their child’s Christmas special and are taking registrations now for the program.

Toys for Kids offers families in need of assistance some help giving their kids, who would not otherwise get any toys, a little brighter Christmas.   Families who provide Christmas to their children with gifts of necessities such as clothing and shoes often rely on the program for extra gifts such as toys.

Registration will continue Mondays and Tuesdays through November from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Grand Starz, located at 2323 Belle Plain.  Families needing assistance should bring their child’s social security cards and the parent’s photo identification.

Registration will continue December 2-13, Monday-Friday at the following times: Monday and Tuesdays from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Wednesdays – Fridays from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Distribution Day will be Saturday, December 21st.  Parents will be able to pick out gifts for their children.  The number of toys per child is not predetermined but depends upon the number of donations received according to the program’s founder Wanda Martin.

Toys for Kids is currently seeking donations of toys and/or monetary gifts to help with this year’s program.  Donations can be delivered to Grand Stars (2323 Belle Plain) or mailed to Toys for Kids, P.O. Box 912, Brownwood, Texas 76804.  Other drop-off locations include Brownwood Fire Stations 1 & 2.  All proceeds benefit Brown County residents and 100% of donations received go toward the purchase of toys.  The entire season is worked by volunteers and program directors of Toys for Kids who work diligently without receiving any income for their service.

For more information about the program or to volunteer, please call 325-646-6822.  Toys For Kids is a 501 (c) (3) organization, (# 47-0947449).
