BFD Fire & Rescue Reports 10/30

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of October 21-27, 2013 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 17 medical emergencies, 4 fire calls, and 2 motor vehicle accidents.

Reports of interest include the following:

Monday, October 21

*11:04 AM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 300 block of Market Place Blvd. regarding an unintentional alarm activation.  Firefighters arrived to find there was no fire.

Tuesday, October 22

*6:34 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 1200 block 1st Street.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a pit dug in ground with wood burning.  The residents were instructed to put the fire out and get an approved container for cooking.

Wednesday, October 23

*2:11 PM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident in the area of Borden & Coleman Streets.  Fire crews assisted with loading of the patient into an ambulance for transport to the hospital.

Thursday, October 24

*6:46 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 1500 block of 3rd Street.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a fire in an approved container for burning.  There was no danger.

Friday, October 25

*10:31 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 2300 block of Belmeade Street. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a fire pit burning in a back yard.  The resident was informed of the city burn ordinance and of approved cooking containers.

Sunday, October 27

*1:05 AM – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle versus a pedestrian in the 2700 block of Belmeade Street. Fire crews assisted with loading of the patient into an ambulance for transport to the hospital.
