BPFFAHauntedHouseIf you like to be scared out of your mind, the Brownwood Professional Firefighters Association 6th Annual Haunted House is the place to be, starting this weekend, October 25th & 26th at the Brown County Youth Fair Grounds Home Economics Building.

There will be a variety of scares including zombies, a little insanity, optical illusions, lots of blood and guts and some unexpected thrills as you walk through what BPFFA calls one of the best haunted houses in the region.

Over 30 volunteers make the transformation of a regular building into a zone of terror.  Brownwood firefighters along with many HPU baseball players and other volunteers will make it a night visitors won’t easily forget.

The haunted house will be open the following dates and times:

October 25 & 26 – 7 p.m. until midnight

October 31 – 7 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.

November 1 & 2 – 7 p.m. until midnight

Admission is $7 for adults ages 13 & up and children ages 8-12 are just $5.  This haunted house is NOT recommended for any child below the age of 8.

For the ultimate scare, pay $3 more and you will get some extra fun scares.

All proceeds will be split between the B.J. Carnes Scholarship Fund and the BPFFA General/Haunted House Fund. Over the past 4 years, the haunted house has funded over $8500 in scholarships which are awarded annually by BPFFA to deserving students attending to Fire Academy or EMS training for a career in emergency services.

BPFFA member Chad Hill encourages the public to come and visit the haunted house, one of the best around.

“It’s a lot of work and a lot of fun (putting together the haunted house).  They’ll get their money’s worth,” promised Hill.

He explained that in planning the haunted house, firefighters visited a huge haunted house in downtown Fort Worth to get ideas.  They continue to visit other haunted houses each year in an effort to change features of the house each year in order to make it more exciting for their visitors.

Pictured above is just one of the ghouls visitors may see during their visit.  Below is a photo of the BCFA Home Economics Building where the haunted house is being held.
