Weekly Fishing Report for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.

Lake Brownwood

Water stained; 73–77 degrees; 9.20′ low. Black bass are good on crankbaits, green pumpkin or redbug Finesse worms on Shaky Head jigs near docks in 4–8 feet, white flukes, and spinnerbaits. White bass to 2 pounds are excellent on crankbaits and jigs off lighted docks at night in 5–25 feet. Crappie are excellent on minnows and white or shad Li’l Fishies over brush piles in 5–15 feet. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

Lake Coleman

Water clear; 75–79 degrees; 15.05′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon crankbaits and soft plastic worms. Hybrid striper are slow. Crappie are fair on live minnows and blue tube jigs over brush piles. Channel catfish are good on stinkbait, shrimp, and liver. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 68–72 degrees; 41.59′ low. Black bass are good on Rat–L–Traps, Texas rigs and medium running shad pattern crankbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs around deep water structure. White bass are fair on topwaters and Little Georges. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers.

Lake Proctor

Water stained; 75–79 degrees; 7.65′ low. Black bass are fair on black and purple soft plastic worms. Striped bass are fair on silver/blue Rat–L–Traps. White bass are good on cut shad. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shrimp and nightcrawlers. Yellow catfish are fair on live bait.
