gray1David Gray, age 70, of Early, passed away on Tuesday, October 15th, 2013 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

David Frederick Gray was born on April 13, 1943, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Sarah and Donald Gray and married his wonderful wife, Jeannie Haddad Gray on June 29, 1968. During their 45 years of marriage, they lived in many different areas including Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Georgia, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, and Texas with their 8 children. He had a generous heart, and always had time to lend a helping hand with whatever projects or questions anyone had. He had a positive impact on the lives of everyone around him. He could fix any problem and was always planning the next project.

David will be remembered for his kindness, his support, and his firm respect toward all. He was a devout Catholic, a constant presence at St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church for daily Mass and every Saturday evening. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and participated in volunteer activities including Eucharistic Minister, Home Visits, Meals on Wheels, Good Samaritan, and the Soup Kitchen.

David was a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather. He is survived by his wife Jeannie, 8 children: Marie, Jennifer, Paula, Daniel, Andrea, Monica, Sarah and Joshua, along with 16 grandchildren.

His many hobbies included farming, shooting targets, woodworking, carpentry, mechanical repair, tractors and following politics. David served his country in the US Army. He spent most of his time caring for his family and friends; he would never turn down any request for help.

David will be missed, but will remain in all of our hearts, even as he watches over us from Heaven.
