5th Annual Heart of Texas Marching Festival Set for Saturday, Oct. 12 at Early Longhorn Stadium

IMG_5266The Early Band Booster Club will host the 5th Annual Heart of Texas Marching Festival, a pre-UIL contest on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Early Longhorn Stadium.  Over twenty high school bands are scheduled to perform during the event to show off their marching skills.

The public is invited to attend this event.  Admission to the contest is $3 for adults and $2 for students.

Judges for the event are Mike Lewis, Forrester Halamicek, Chuck Christian, Ken McClellan, and Dillon Phillips.

According to its organizers, this contest has been designed to give bands the opportunity to perform at the UIL Contest Site as well as receive critiques from highly qualified judges on how to improve the marching show before this year’s UIL contest.  Early High School will be performing at 3:45, Brownwood High School at 5:00 and Bangs High School at 5:15.

The HPU Yellow Jacket Marching Band will be giving an exhibition performance at the conclusion of the event at 5:30.

The schedule of bands are as follows:

10:15 – Bronte

10:30 – Eldorado

10:45 – Coleman

11:00 – San Saba

11:15 – Mason

11:30 – Goldthwaite

11:45 – Lunch Break

1:15 – Menard

1:30 – Eden

1:45 – Seymour

2:00 – Break

2:15 – Winters

2:30 – Miles

2:45 – Rising Star

3:00 – Wall

3:15 – Break

3:30 – Breckenridge

3:45 – Early

4:00 – Ballinger

4:15 – Christoval

4:30 – Comanche

4:45 – Sonora

5:00 – Brownwood

5:15 – Bangs
