In conjunction with the Brownwood Reunion Hands on a House Competition held during the weekend of September 20-22, participants and sponsors raised 10,979 canned goods in their annual food drive with help from these local schools.

Eight local elementary and middle schools recently participated in food drive.  For their help getting the food drive off to a great start with 6,147 cans, the top class at each school was awarded a pizza party hosted by organizers of the event Coldwell Banker and TexasBank.  Four of these parties took place last week.  The remaining schools will have parties this week.

Ms. Kelly Hutchin’s 3rd Grade class (pictured at top) was celebrated at Early Elementary on Monday. They brought 98 of the total 479 items that their school collected for the Food Drive.

Friday three more of the schools were celebrated.

“We are so very proud of these kids and the way they helped out with this great project to collect food for the 2013 Hands-on-a-House Food Drive for Good Samaritan Ministries and St. John’s Food Pantry,” said Coldwell Banker officials in a media release.

The Hands on a House event this year was sponsored by Coldwell Banker, Mark Campbell & Associates, TexasBank Mortgage, Landmark Life Insurance Company, Ingram Concrete LLC, and Johnny Cantwell – Contractor.
